We are a nonprofit foundation that is focused on raising awareness about Earth sciences and making sure everyone has an opportunity to participate if they want to. We have seven key initiatives that you can find described on this site.
There are several ways you can help. You can donate money to the foundation, this is tax deductible, and allows us to advance our mission by providing lodging, transportation, courses, and equipment for foundation events. You can also volunteer to help with skills that you have. Helping with things such as mentoring, exhibit creation, custom product development, and more. You can also donate products (check out our amazon wish list) and goods that we can put on our website to help raise funds to keep our programs moving forward.
Your contribution will enable us to support our current and future missions and initiatives to spread accessibility of Earth sciences to everyone. You can also donate by purchasing items from our Amazon wish list here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3TAKPF51QLNQG?ref=cm_sw_em_r_un_un_4tGKVxU6uSuwF
A recent study from England showed a 68% decline in students earning degrees in the Earth sciences. As budgets get tighter for schools, field trips, and field experiences are being eliminated for students. The world of science is a secretive world with research being conducted that nobody knows about until it is done and published. Crucial data is withheld from other scientists in fear that someone may publish the research first. Science can be a very isolating experience for some and we want to change that. We want to make sure the opportunity is always available for people to engage in science, collaborate with fellow researchers, and work tirelessly to get more people engaged in science so we can have answers to the tough questions our world faces everyday. So for our foundation, the question is not why help make it more accessible to everyone? Why are we not doing everything we can to foster, develop, cultivate, and collaborate for the sake of everyone on this planet.
